Our hand made tiles have been developed using a technique we have developedwhich gives a very high gloss finish with exceptional durability, chemical resistance, non yellowing properties, gloss retention and abrasion resistance. Precious Tiles are not recommended for high traffic flooring or for areas whereintense heat may occur such as fireplaces or above range hoods. Always ensure that you have enough tiles of THE SAME BATCH. INSTALLATION OF TILES BY THE THIN BED METHOD ADHESIVE Use only with the correct type of adhesive.A cement based adhesive that is white*rapid setting*flexible (i.e. Polymer modified)*Hydroscopic (does not need air curing). Use only epoxy based adhesive for submerged conditions i.e. Spa's & Showers. THE SURFACE Ensure that the surface to be tiled is smooth. Adhesive may be used to fill or levelirregularities. Apply with a notched trowel using a scraping motion to work the material into goodcontact with the surface to be covered. A trowel having notches large enough to ensure "full bedding" is recommended. Only enough adhesive should be applied as can be covered within 10-15 minutes,or while adhesive surface is still wet & tacky. The tiles should be set in place & and rap beaten with a small rubber beating blockto ensure 100% bedding and a true surface. Tiles should be aligned to show uniformjoints and then allowed to set firm. Excess adhesive should be cleaned from the surface of the tile with a wet cloth orsponge while adhesive is still fresh. GROUTING Use a flexible (polymer modified) grout. Joints should be packed full & free of all voids & pits. Excess grout to be cleanedfrom surface as work progresses, while grout is fresh & before it hardens. The day after installation grout film or haze should be removed using a detergentsolution. No acids or ammonia-based products should be used. COLD WEATHER NOTE Low temperatures retard the curing of installation mortars, adhesives and groutsand finished work should be protected for an extended period of time. WET AREA NOTE Allow tiles work in wet areas such as showers 10 days to cure before exposing towater. Please Note That Once Tiles Have Been Laid, Precious Tiles Will Not Be HeldResponsible For Any Quality Claims.
